Kemi Inner Harbor – Beautiful Scenery and Charming Atmosphere
Located on the waterfront boulevard, the Inner Harbor is Kemi’s absolute gem that every traveler must see and experience. The boulevard starts from the SnowCastle and continues to Kiikeli. If you crave fresh sea air and beautiful scenery, this is the perfect place to spend a winter day.
At the Inner Harbor, you will find the new Satamankonttori sauna and ice swimming spot, where you can experience the best of refreshment and recovery. Children are also welcome to sauna and take a dip! Tickets and refreshments are sold at the Satamankonttori café building.
Sataman Krouwi serves the hungry and thirsty. There are snack plates for a small appetite, and burgers and salmon soup for a bigger hunger.
The Inner Harbor also has a sledding hill, which is enjoyed by both locals and tourists. Skiing enthusiasts can put on their skis at the large parking lot of the Inner Harbor and head straight onto the sea ice to ski on the Sun Track. Along the way, you will find the Selkäsaari track café, which is open during the winter holiday weeks. You can also walk on the sea ice to Selkäsaari, a distance of about two kilometers.
The SnowCastle Area
The SnowCastle area in Kemi offers unique experiences all year round. In the main building of the SnowCastle area you find SnowExperience365: built from snow and ice, where you can step into a winter wonderland every day of the year. During the summer it is always -5 degrees Celsius inside SnowExperience365. But don´t worry, they provide blankets to keep you warm!
You can enjoy hot chocolate and snacks at the café in the magnificent main building of the SnowCastle, or have a meal at Restaurant Lumihiutale if you get really hungry.
