The Kemi Art Museum is the oldest art museum in Northern Finland and one of the 16 areal art museums of Finland. Founded in 1947 the museum has from the get-go opened windows for the Northern Finnish art and enabled the emergence of northern art in a graceful way. The emphasis of the exhibitions is on showcasing the modern art of Lapland.
The Kemi Art Museum offers annually 6-7 changing exhibitions in the Sebastian Savander designed ample and bright exhibition space situated in the Kemi Cultural Centre. In addition to the exhibitions the museum offers amazing surroundings for different celebrations and concert events.
