The Inner Harbor, located right next to the city center, is Kemi’s true gem—no wonder it’s often called the locals’ living room in summer. It’s easy to spend an entire day here, enjoying the idyllic atmosphere and admiring the charming red warehouse buildings that are well worth a visit, even from afar.
The Inner Harbor is home to several delightful restaurants and cafés, as well as an ice cream kiosk in the city’s prime spot. You can spend the day playing mini golf, enjoying live music, or exploring a free cultural attraction, the historic Yli-Jaakheikki smokehouse dating back to 1796. The harbor also serves as the departure point for Kemi’s island cruises.
You’ll also find sailing centers and a guest marina in the Inner Harbor.
In wintertime, groomed cross-country ski tracks and walking routes lead directly from the harbor onto the frozen Bothnian Bay.
